A whole new 9.5 km urban circuit in the western section (Mingan). This course will allow spectators to witness the athletes prowesses from many spots along the circuit or, for the lucky locals, from their own backyard. Serge-Bouchard Highschool’s high quality facility shall serve as main site both for departures and arrivals to ensure an electrifying atmosphere.
The spectators will witness the spectacular Côte Cathédrale’s descent followed by Chiasson’s street sharp turns which will bring the athletes to a long boulevard that follows the beautiful Manicouagan hydroelectric river. After going down Lejeune, Galleran, Hélène, Bernache, Dieppe, Côté streets and Bélanger boulevard the athletes will start ascending Côte Cathédrale : a strategic turning point of the race. In the Baie-Comeau castle area, you will therefore be able to see the athletes ascend, descend and even make the final turn if you can move quickly from one spot to another.
At the top of this hill, they will ride on a flatter course through Conan and Peupliers streets before engaging on Blanche boulevard and making a turn on mythical Puyjalon street in the heart of downtown Baie-Comeau. Upon Bretagne street, the cyclists will race into a 700m straight line on Joliet boulevard : a key observation point if you are a fan of strategy, sprints and self surpassing. It is the spot to choose if you wish to enjoy the atmosphere, the World Cup experience at its fullest, official ceremonies, entertainment and meetings with the athletes.
A spectacular course that will allow sprinters, climbers, downhill riders, and cruisers to showcase their expertise at some point throughout the race.
- Serge-Bouchard Highschool’s high quality facility shall serve as main site both for departures and arrivals to ensure an electrifying atmosphere. With a long straight line at the end of the race, you will witness intense sprints for victory.
- The Côte de la Cathédrale located on Joliet boulevard facing Baie-Comeau’s castle will be a spectacular observation point. A great spot to witness the full-speed downhill race as well as a plunging view on the strategic ascent from Belanger boulevard to Joliet boulevard. Furthermore, if you manage to move quickly enough from place to place, you may be able to see the athletes battling for victory upon arrival on main site!
- The circuit passes in front of your place or one of your friend’s house? This is the perfect occasion to do a tailgate gathering! A barbecue, some friends, great food and an international race live right in front of your place, the best mix for a successful party!
