UCI Para-cycling World Cup Final in Baie-Comeau
On behalf of the Board of Directors and members of the Cycling Canada it gives me great pleasure to welcome all competitors and supporters to the UCI Para-cycling World Cup Final in Baie-Comeau.
With more than 350 athletes, coaches and journalists representing over 25 nations in attendance, this Final is a major event within international cycling and one that Canada is proud to host. Canada wants to remain an important contributor for the development of paracycling worldwide. Hosting this World Cup Final in Canada (Baie-Comeau) is part of our overall plan to bring the world to Canada, expose the sport to as many people as possible and deliver a memorable experience to all.
We would like to recognize the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) for awarding this event to Baie-Comeau and the Fédération Québécoise des Sport Cyclistes for their continued support of cycling racing in Canada.
The four days of competition will prove to be memorable for all participants and spectators who will see world class competition across the different sport classes. Cheer on Canada, and cheer on the world as these fine athletes strive for the podium at the World Cup Final.
We wish to thank Gestion SPACT for the organization of this prestigious event, the Ville de Baie-Comeau for being such gracious hosts and the sponsors and supporters that helped bring this event to the north shore of the St. Lawrence River. In addition it is important to recognize the many volunteers that are involved in making such a large event run smoothly for the athletes and their support personnel.
Best wishes to all for a successful and unforgettable event.
