Charles Moreau

Charles Moreau becomes paraplegic after a tragic car accident in 2008. Just a few months later, his athlete instinct takes over and Charles starts training again. Very quickly, he exceeds in the para-triathlon discipline for which he wins a silver medal at the 2009 World Championships. In 2013, the chiropractor by training decides to devote his time solely to paracycling in order to perform at the next Paralympic Games. Internationnally, the man from Victoriaville steps on the podium for the first time in 2015, which achievement he repeats once more at a subsequent World Championship held at the same city.

 

Two-time bronze medalist at the Rio Games, Mr. Moreau, who competes in the handcycle category, has another great season the following year. Indeed, the two-time canadian handcycle champion is decorated at each World Cup event he enters into. In Italy he wins bronze in the race against the clock event and in the Netherlands, he brings two more bronze medals back home. He wins bronze at the race against clock event at the World Championships but in the road race event, technical problems slow him down and his second attempt at a podium is therefore jeopardized. He will settle for a seventh place.
